I earned my L1 and L2 high-powered rocketry certifications (TRA) by building, launching, and recovering a personal rocket. After a successful launch and recovery on my first L1 certification attempt, I used the same rocket structure for my L2 certification attempt, altering the CG of the rocket to account for the heavier motor and maintain adequate stability.
