Helicopter Flight Dynamics Using Machine Learning

Senior Design project using neural networks to predict flight dynamics of RC helicopters for the US Navy.

As a member of the ground test subteam, I am designing a helicopter modification to allow pilots to simulate a mid-flight fuel tank leak and conducting ground experiments to determine the 3D center of gravity location of each aircraft. Additionally, I am assembling and maintaining the team's fleet of 5 SAB Goblin RC Helicopters to support flight test and data collection.

In spring 2026, the team will present our findings to the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD).
